I thought you would appreciate this story and I wouldn't be breaching his confidence in confiding in you now"
Taylor Cabal

"When Amy first hired him I remember thinking that he was so different from the other scoopers, I just didn't think he was going to work out.  That is such a funny thought now 20 years later.  Phil added a dimension to Amy's at a time when Amy's was defining itself.  And Phil kept us grounded.  Phil was enigmatic-he came off as a matter - of - fact guy, but he was really all heart.  Phil had a hard time giving you a simple answer to a simple question.  I used to tease him that if I asked what time it was he'd have to tell me how a watch works.  It was a long-running joke.  But now it's what I remember fondly and it's what was so charming about Phil - in so many ways he always gave you much more than you asked for.

Phil was also a truly loyal person.  He stayed with Amy's year after year.  Sometimes I thought that maybe Phil should move on to other things.  I knew he had other dreams - like dreams of being a husband and I dad.  I had dreams myself that I thought were too big for Austin.
